Catherine McNally

Born and raised in Toronto,Ontario, Canada, international award winning actor Catherine began her professional career in her native city in 1987 after receiving a Diploma in Acting a London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts, and Honours degree in Dramatic Art from Queen’s University. She also trained at Vassar College for the inaugural season of the Powerhouse Theatre with Mark Linn Baker, Mary McDonnell, Ken Howard, John Patrick Shanley, and assisted directed Obie winner Andrei Belgrader before she went to London, England for classical theatre training at L.A.M.D.A. Catherine is also an international fellow with Shakespeare’s Globe in London, England after receiving the prestigious Christopher Plummer Fellowship Award as well the Canada’s Globe, Women in Shakespeare Award, where she worked with Mark Rylance and John Dove.

Since then, her film and television as been consistent with her theatre  which include co-starring in the recent Charming Christmas with Julie Benz and David Sutcliffe, recurring role in Rogue with Richard Schiff, 12 Monkeys, Reign, Murdoch Mysteries, Saving Hope, Degrassi, Whistleblower Flashpoint, Webdultery, Have MercyOn Their KneesRemembrance and LoveSex, and Eating the Bones (TIFF, Best First Feature, City TV), The Gathering, Doc Odyssey 5Soul FoodKilling Me SoftlyKojakRoxanaGet a ClueForeign ObjectsEnslavementEarth; Final ConflictDue South and Goosebumps, to name a few.  Catherine has worked with award winning actors Madeleine Stowe, Richard Schiff, Mark Rylance, Eva Marie Saint, Rachel Weisz, Yannick Bisson,Lindsey Lohan, Margaret Colin,Enrico Corolino, Ving Rhimes, and directed by David Grossman, Craig Pyrce, Larysa Kondracki, Jame Keach, Sudz Sutherland, Clement Virgo, David Wellington, Ken Girotti, Stephan Surjik, Bill Eagles, Maggie Greenwald, and Ken Finkleman .Catherine also has worked in theatres across the country, in Toronto, as well in the United States with renowned artists Brenda Bazinet, Miles Potter, Peter Hinton, Ed Roy, Janet Amos, Paul Thompson, Ken Gass, Jeannette Lambermont, Dennis Garnhum, Allen MacInnis, Bob White, Emma Griffin, and Mark Booher. She produced and starred in the one woman play, Jewel, that was performed in Toronto and across the country as well as Hunger Striking at Theatre Passe Murialle both to extraordinary critical acclaim. Catherine is also one of the founding members of the unique Shakespeare in the Rough and has received the Tyrone Guthrie Award from the Stratford Festival.

She is also a well-respected acting coach/instructor for film and theatre. From classical text, new works, T.V and Film, self-tapes, private coaching, classes, workshops and tutorials and working with well-established T.V, Broadway, theatre actors of all ages, to aspiring new ones.

She is a Dora nominated actor, and over the years has been acknowledged as one of the top ten Artists, as well as best performance and best ensemble by NOW Magazine. Catherine lives in Toronto with her husband, actor/acting coach Robert B. Kennedy and her son Kieran, who attends the prestigious Etobicoke School for the Arts. She is a member of ACTRA, AEA and CAEA. Catherine is a competitive swimmer and is member of the Masters Swimming Ontario.
